Aerospace (Grades 9-12)

By University of Colorado Boulder

Sixteen CU Boulder astronaut affiliates have flown on forty space shuttle missions! Join some of the leaders in aerospace technologies in learning about what it takes to be an aerospace engineer. In this camp, we'll meet scientists from CU studying orbits, imaging, and space exploration, as well as visit some CU aerospace landmarks. We’ll visit the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP), where we'll get a chance to see one of only a few university-based Mission Operations Centers, where LASP undergraduate and graduate students perform mission operations for NASA satellites totaling more than $1.5 billion in value. We’ll visit Fiske Planetarium and see a full dome show and visit locations in our solar system and beyond with our world-class facility. In between all this, we’ll learn how humans understand, explore, and visit destinations in our night sky!
