App Development & AI for Good is a dynamic, one-week camp designed for forward-thinking innovators ages 8–12. This program goes beyond basic coding, you’ll learn how to build functional mobile apps and explore the power of Artificial Intelligence to tackle real-world challenges!

What You’ll Achieve This camp blends practical software development with critical thinking around social impact:

Mobile App Creation: You’ll use accessible, block-based programming tools (like MIT App Inventor) to design, code, and test your own functional mobile applications. Learn the essential concepts of user interface (UI) design, logic, and debugging. AI Fundamentals: Discover how AI works, focusing on machine learning and data. You’ll work with visual tools (like Google’s Teachable Machine) to train your own AI models to recognize images, sounds, or poses, seeing the power of data in action. Design for Impact: The core focus of the week is applying these skills to solve problems. You’ll brainstorm and develop app concepts aimed at promoting positive change, whether it’s an app to help people recycle, track local environmental issues, or improve community safety. Critical Evaluation: Learn to think like an ethical technologist. You’ll evaluate your AI models, identify potential biases, and discuss the responsibility that comes with creating powerful technology. The Inventor’s Toolkit You’ll gain hands-on experience in the complete technology lifecycle, moving from idea to interactive prototype. This camp is perfect for young people who are curious about how apps work and want to use coding and AI to make a tangible difference in their community!

Early Arrival/Extended Day: 8am to 9am – $10/day | 3pm to 5:45pm – $28/day Optional Catered Lunch: Monday-Friday, $68.50/week
