AROUND THE WORLD

Campers will explore five different countries on five different continents in five days. Our travels will begin Africa by checking out the country of Madagascar. We will explore the geography, festivals, food, traditions, and lots of unique animals.Next, we travel to North America and explore Canada. We will learn about their First Nation’s music, art, and relationships with the animals that share their environment. In Brazil, the celebration of Carnival and the lush Amazon will be our focus. We will make masks and learn about the biodiversity of the landscape. Then, we travel north to Iceland and experiment with volcanoes, make octagon designs based on the impressive and unique lava flows, and finish the day with paintings of the Northern Lights. On the last day we will dive into Spain studying their traditions of bull fighting, Flamenco dancing, and Pablo Picasso. Each day will be filled with maps, art, music, and stories. At the end of each day, the different projects will be sent home to be shared with families. This camp is designed for campers who are in first to fifth grades.
