Boulder Summer Camp - Week #6: Photo Camp
By Scribble Art Workshop
This week of camp will focus on the art of photography using both technology and old-school art-making tools and techniques. We'll begin the week by venturing outside of the studio and capturing black and white images of the man-made world around us: buildings, streets, etc. Then we'll come back to the studio and assemble our images into collaged cityscapes. Next, we'll explore making sun prints in our parks and mounting these images onto decorative frames. We'll finish up the week by building small characters and props and then taking them out of the studio to photograph in natural settings. We'll invite families to our photo exhibition at the end of the week!

About Scribble Art Workshop
Our Boulder studio is a welcoming, sunlight-filled, creative space.
Here, we encourage our young artists to explore all sorts of art-making including painting, sculpture, comic book illustration, printmaking, and most importantly, the full process of professional silkscreening. Our focus in this studio is exposing our students to careers in the arts, even at a very early age. We'll produce (with the help of the teen guild) yearly art markets, exhibitions and film festivals and create work with these culminating community events in mind. On a typical day in the studio, you'll find toddlers and pre-schoolers exploring materials in the mornings, our after-school clubhouse abuzz with socializing and creativity in the afternoons, and teens/adults learning from practicing artists in the evenings. On the weekends, our studio is alive with birthday parties, printmaking groups, adult art-making events and more.
