CERAMICS
By Dawson School
Campers will learn to work with clay on the potter’s wheel and hand-building activities. On the wheel, students will learn the process of throwing a pot. They will learn to center their clay and will explore creating various forms including bowls, plates, cups, pitchers, and vases. By contrast, hand-building projects give students a chance to create sculptures, jewelry boxes, and other forms that cannot be made on the wheel. While all sessions will allow campers opportunities to explore a variety of forms, the sessions’ firing techniques and products will be different. All clay, tools, glaze, and other decorative materials are included in the cost of the camp.
