Clay - Dish It Out: Designed Dinnerware
By Kent Denver School
Set the table with style in this 5-day camp that is ALL about personalized pottery! Campers will create their own one-of-a-kind small dinnerware set, including plates, bowls, and cups, all designed with bold patterns and meaningful imagery. This session focuses on the decorative magic of sgraffito and stencil work. Campers will explore how to layer color and carve into the surface to reveal striking designs, from intricate linework to graphic patterns. Ceramicists will also experiment with stencils to add shapes, symbols, and storytelling elements to their pieces.
Throughout the week, students will explore slab building, wheel throwing, carving, and glazing, while turning everyday dishes into expressive works of art. By the end of camp, each artist will have a functional, food-safe set that’s perfect for mealtime—or display time!
