First Swings: An Intro to the Game of Golf Half Day AM (Week 4)
By Kent Denver School
The First Swings Golf Camp is the perfect introduction to golf for children ages 8 - 11 with little to no prior experience in the sport. This camp will focus on teaching the fundamentals—grip, stance, swing, putting and chipping—in a relaxed and supportive environment rather than on a full golf course or driving range. Campers will also learn the rules, terminology, and proper golf etiquette to help them understand how the game is played. Each day features fun, interactive games designed to build coordination, confidence, and excitement. Every participant will receive 3 - 4 beginner-friendly golf clubs to take home and keep, allowing campers to continue practicing beyond camp. Our goal will be to provide every child camper with a positive first experience of the game of golf, thus fostering a lifelong love of the game. No lunch option.
Teacher Bio: Coach Nick Hinchley is a middle school coach at Kent Denver School, where he also works as a Technology Support Specialist.
