Mini World (3rd-6th) Full Day

Step into the world of tiny creations! In Mini World, campers explore scale, perspective, color, texture, and design by building imaginative miniature spaces. Each project is open-ended, letting makers dream big in a small world. With their architect’s hat on, campers plan layouts, add furniture and accessories, and invent clever engineering features — like pulley-system elevators or cantilevered swimming pools for tree frogs! They design for purpose, personality, and play. The classroom becomes their studio and miniature world, with a swap shop and inspiration station ready for brainstorming. Past creations have included trapeze schools, toy museums, ice cream shops, and even Hogwarts-style schools.

Notes Curious Jane does not provide food. Please pack a nut-free, non-perishable lunch and 2–3 snacks each day. Half-day campers only need snacks and do not require a lunch. Each camper receives one camp t-shirt per summer. A second t-shirt can be purchased for $12 and will feature the same design in a different color. This is a great option for campers attending multiple weeks of camp.

Sample Class Format 8:30–8:45am — All Camp Drop-Off / Check-In 8:45–9:00 — Morning Greeting & Creative Kickoff (Daily design prompt, quick sketch of the day’s miniature space, warm-up activity, and sharing ideas) 9:00–10:00 — Project Period 1: Story + Character Development (Begin a core mini world project such as a room, shop, or fantasy setting and develop characters or inhabitants) 10:00–10:30 — Snack 10:30–12:00 — Project Period 2: Weeklong Project (Work on the main miniature world build, including creating interactive elements, designing mini furniture and accessories) 12:00 — Lunch 12:30–1:15pm — Camp Collaborative (Mini world bingo, collaborative challenges, and inspiration station visits) 1:15–2:45 — Project Period 3: Structural & Environmental Details (experimenting with textures, adding landscaping, and tackling simple engineering challenges) 2:45 — Clean Up & Pack Up 3:00 — Parent Pick-Up
