Once Upon A Castle (K-2nd) Full Day

Enter a world of imagination where stories come to life—literally! In this creative camp, makers dream up their own fairy tales and bring them off the page with hands-on building and art projects. They’ll design and decorate 3-D castles, create characters and creatures, and craft story scenes that turn their ideas into magical worlds.Throughout the week, campers explore storytelling basics like setting, plot timelines, and character and by the week’s end, each maker will have a one-of-a-kind castle and story to share!

Notes Curious Jane does not provide food. Please pack a nut-free, non-perishable lunch and 2–3 snacks each day. Half-day campers only need snacks and do not require a lunch. Each camper receives one camp t-shirt per summer. A second t-shirt can be purchased for $12 and will feature the same design in a different color. This is a great option for campers attending multiple weeks of camp.

Sample Class Format Sample Daily Schedule 8:30–8:45am — All Camp Drop-Off / Check-In 8:45–9:00 — Morning Greeting & Story Circle (Daily theme intro, short tale or myth, sharing ideas about kingdoms and characters, and a creative warm-up drawing) 9:00–10:00 — Project Period 1: Story Development (Character design, setting maps, plot planning, and world-building foundations) 10:00–10:30 — Snack 10:30–12:00 — Project Period 2: Castle Construction (Build castle structures, towers, rooms, landscapes, and mini characters) 12:00 — Lunch 12:30–1:15pm — Camp Collaborative (Themed activities such as Castle Quest Games, Creature Parades and Craft Specials) 1:15–2:45 — Project Period 3: Castle-World Detailing (Decorating, adding magical elements, creating props, and finishing story features) 2:45 — Clean Up & Pack Up 3:00 — Parent Pick-Up
