Reading and Writing Studio: Let's Make and Read More Books! (Week 3)
By Kent Denver School
Are you a 1st or 2nd grader who loves to read, write, and draw? Do you have ideas you want to turn into books? In Reading and Writing Studio: Let’s Make and Read Books, campers will admire and be inspired by amazing authors like Mo Willems - Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! - and many new authors of books they will love to read. As readers - students will discover some of the newest and latest titles as well as have time to lose themselves in amazing books—while as writers, campers will develop stories, tell stories about our own lives, and/or create teaching books based on their own interests. Each day, campers will choose a new book from our “classroom bookstore” to keep. Campers will conclude the week with a total of five new books! There will be an “open mic” time each day for students to share their reading and writing while our other workshop participants share their praise and feedback. Let’s read and make books!
Please note this course is the same course as that offered in Week 2
