Spies in Disguise (K-2nd) Full Day

For curious mini gumshoes, Spies in Disguise is the ultimate week of mystery, mischief, and mind-bending clues. Perfectly packed with cases to crack and secrets to uncover, campers transform into super sleuths as they learn to code and decode (the old-school analog way!), craft clever disguises, and design their own hidden messages and tricky clues. It’s the perfect first step into Spy Science — one of CJ’s most popular themes — and an ideal fit for the playful tricksters and creative problem-solvers among us.

Projects include Detective Disguises, analog Coding & Decoding tools, Secret Message Makers, Fingerprint & Footprint forensics, Hidden Pathway puzzles, Flashlight Wands, Magic 8 Balls, and — of course — solving the weeklong mystery.

Notes Curious Jane does not provide food. Please pack a nut-free, non-perishable lunch and 2–3 snacks each day. Half-day campers only need snacks and do not require a lunch. Each camper receives one camp t-shirt per summer. A second t-shirt can be purchased for $12 and will feature the same design in a different color. This is a great option for campers attending multiple weeks of camp.

Sample Class Format 8:30–8:45am — All Camp Drop-Off / Check-In 8:45–9:00 — Morning Greeting & Sleuth Kickoff (Daily mystery prompt, quick sketch of a disguise or gadget, warm-up clue challenge, and sharing detective strategies) 9:00–10:00 — Project Period 1: Feature Build (Start a core spy project such as Detective Disguises, Secret Message Makers, or Flashlight Wands) 10:00–10:30 — Snack 10:30–12:00 — Project Period 2: Weeklong Case Files (Work on ongoing investigations and builds like Code & Cipher Tools, Fingerprint Forensics, and Agent ID Kits) 12:00 — Lunch 12:30–1:15pm — Camp Collaborative (Group activities such as Spy Scavenger Hunts and Mini Sleuth Challenges) 1:15–2:45 — Project Period 3: Gadget Making & Case Cracking (Add enhancements to spy tools, create Magic 8 Balls, build hidden compartments and complete clue trails) 2:45 — Clean Up & Pack Up 3:00 — Parent Pick-Up
