Tiny Farm Day Camp: Animals, Plants, Pollinators, and More!
By Kent Denver School
Become a Colorado farmer for a week as you explore the Tiny Farm at KDS! Observe native birds and plants, explore our sensory gardens, uncover fabulous compost, and learn about the insects and pollinators on the farm. Young farmers will play and work on our Tiny Farm as they meet new friends, delve into games galore, explore the wonders of the outdoors, meet and care for the farm animals, and create crafts inspired by nature. Campers will become stewards of the earth as they experience the natural habitats surrounding the Tiny Farm. During the heat of the day, campers will spend several hours inside discovering stories, art, games, and music.
Teacher Bio: Michelle Kingston was a certified veterinary technician and has spent the last five years working in kindergarten and elementary classrooms. This is Michelle’s second year as the Tiny Farm Manager where she enjoys teaching students outside of the classroom about the world around them. She believes the best way to learn about the environment is through hands-on creative activities where children can take ownership of their learning, see the “fruits of their labor” and experience the creative connections of learning through play.
