Tiny Farm Day Camp: Become a Farmer’s Market Artisan
By Kent Denver School
Our young farmers will learn to be “real farmers” on our KDS Tiny Farm as campers harvest produce, flowers and herbs, make soap, pickles, candles and more. Play and work on our farm as you meet new friends, delve into outdoor games galore, explore the wonders of the outdoors, discover gardening, meet and care for our farm animals, create crafts inspired by nature, and canoe on beautiful ponds. Campers will become stewards of the earth as they experience the natural habitats surrounding the Tiny Farm. During the heat of the day, campers will spend several hours inside discovering stories, art, games, and music. On Friday, campers will have the opportunity to showcase their knowledge of the farm to friends and family before pickup.
Teacher Bio: Michelle Kingston was a certified veterinary technician and has spent the last five years working in kindergarten and elementary classrooms. This is Michelle’s second year as the Tiny Farm Manager where she enjoys teaching students outside of the classroom about the world around them. She believes the best way to learn about the environment is through hands-on creative activities where children can take ownership of their learning, see the “fruits of their labor” and experience the creative connections of learning through play.
