Wild Crescent Summer Camp is a nature-based, child-led outdoor program designed for children ages 5 to 11 who thrive when given space to explore, imagine, and grow. Rooted in the forest school model, the camp takes place in a natural setting, where children spend their days immersed in hands-on learning and play. The program emphasizes creativity, resilience, and community, with a strong focus on helping each child build confidence and social-emotional skills through real-world experiences. Each day at camp is shaped by the children themselves. Instead of a rigid schedule, campers follow their curiosity through activities like building forts, exploring local ecosystems, identifying plants and wildlife, creating art from natural materials, and engaging in group games and storytelling. They learn practical outdoor skills such as problem solving, teamwork, and risk assessment, often with opportunities to work with tools, cook in nature, or participate in inquiry-based projects. Visiting experts like geologists or herbalists may also join sessions, adding depth and excitement to the experience. This balance of guided support and self-directed exploration helps children develop independence, adaptability, and a genuine love of learning.

This session is for Mon/Tue at Crown Hill Park. Wild Crescent Camp is offered the rest of the week at Bear Creek Greenbelt in Lakewood.
