Cinderella a Black Box Production (Two Weeks)

Get ready for two magical weeks of creativity, laughter, and performance! In this exciting Cinderella production, students will dive into every part of the theater-making process, from acting on stage to designing the world behind the scenes.Young performers will work together to bring the story of Cinderella to life through rehearsal, prop building, set creation, and costumes - all elements that will create a magical performance. Actors will play engaging theater games, explore acting techniques, and reflect on why Cinderella continues to be such a meaningful story in our culture today. Cinderella will focus on the “whole” theater experience–celebrating creativity, collaboration, and imagination. Students will gain confidence, develop new skills in both acting and technical theater, and, most importantly, actors will have tons of fun discovering the joy of storytelling together. The two weeks will conclude with a final performance for family and friends, where every camper’s hard work and creativity will sparkle on stage! Please note that not all students will receive the part of their choice but all actors will have lots of stage time and rehearsal support.
Early Audition: Monday, July 6th from 4-5:30 p.m. - If students are unable to attend, a remote audition will be available.
Extra Rehearsal: Saturday, July 18th 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Performances: Thursday, July 23rd at 6 p.m. and Friday, July 24th at10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Performers are asked to go home between Friday performances
Teacher Bio: Nawledge Brewington is a passionate theater artist and educator hailing from Denver, Colorado. A proud graduate of CU Boulder, Nawledge earned a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theater, where he honed his craft and developed a deep appreciation for the performing arts. Currently teaching at East High School, Nawledge brings his vibrant energy and creative spirit to the classroom, inspiring students to explore their own artistic voices. His approach to teaching emphasizes collaboration, confidence, and creativity, fostering a supportive environment where students can thrive both on and off the stage.
