CIT Program Session 2
By Dream Big Day Camp
Ready to take the first step toward becoming a camp leader?
Our Counselor in Training (CIT) Program offers high school students the opportunity to develop essential leadership skills while gaining hands-on experience as Junior Counselors.
CITs will start with a tailored mandatory staff training, then rotate through camper groups of their choice every 2-3 days. Each Friday, they’ll participate in a peer wrap-up session, receive individual feedback, and set new goals for the following week.
Key Program Highlights:
Personalized Orientation: Covers roles and responsibilities, camp policies, staff manual review, CPR training, and role-playing scenarios.
Hands-On Experience: CITs will assist camper groups under supervision, engaging in age-specific activities and learning the ropes of camper management.
Teamwork and Peer Learning: CITs will collaborate, share experiences, and grow as a team through planned group activities.
Graduation Ceremony: Celebrate the completion of the program and their achievements.
Program Benefits:
Servant Leadership Self-Efficacy & Confidence Experiential Learning (Including Communication & Camper Management)
Important Note: CITs must be mature, independent, and open to constructive feedback. While prior camp experience is helpful, it’s not required. CITs will always be supervised and will not be left alone with campers. This program is an excellent stepping stone in strengthening leadership skills in a supervised setting. Many of our CITs use this experience for writing college essays and applying for other leadership positions.
Join us for an unforgettable summer of learning, leading, and growing!
