The Lorax El Pomar Production (Two Weeks)

Calling aspiring young actors - come join the cast of The Lorax! Jump into the famous book by Dr. Seuss, a story told by the Once-ler about a fluffy orange guardian of the forest, the Lorax, who fought to save the Truffula Trees! This play is perfect for young artists who want to grow their performance skills while working as part of a supportive and fun ensemble. Students will learn performance skills, teamwork and how to become empathetic artists during our rehearsal process. The Lorax will be a hoot for those who love reading and theater! We ask that students attend our early audition (with the option for a virtual audition) and come to our first day of rehearsal memorized. Please note that not all performers will receive the part of their choice but will be given lots of stage time and performance opportunities.

Early Audition: Saturday, May 16th 10-11:30 a.m. If students are unable to attend, a remote audition will be available.

Extra Rehearsal: June 13th from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Shows: Thursday, June 18th at 2 and 5 p.m; and Saturday, June 20th at 5 p.m.

Teacher Bio: Miranda Schieving is so excited to be a part of the Kent Denver Summer Arts Program for the third year! Miranda has been acting since a young age as a graduate of Denver School of the Arts’ Theatre Department and holds a BFA in theater performance from the University of Evansville. After working as an actor in New York, Miranda moved back to Denver and pursued her passion for education, becoming a 5th grade literacy teacher at C3 Elementary. Combining her passions for theater and creating robust learning experiences for children is a dream for her. Outside of teaching and theater, Miranda spends her time doing stained glass art, hiking, and relaxing at home with her husband, cat and dog.

Lunch can be purchased through Kent Denver for all classes below 50 in number. Students may bring their own lunch.
