Writing Funny Stories and Comics! (Week 2)
By Kent Denver School
If you love to laugh, doodle, and create hilarious stories, this camp is for you! Writing Funny Stories and Comics is perfect for writers who enjoy telling jokes, crafting funny narratives, or developing characters for comic strips. Students will explore single-panel comics, four- to five-panel strips, and illustrated series like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dork Diaries, and Captain Underpants—using these favorites as mentor texts to spark and inspire their own comic creations! Young authors will explore how writers and illustrators use comedic elements to bring their stories to life and then try out those techniques in their own work. Together, young writers will revisit favorite projects from past summers and dive into exciting new writing and art adventures. Come ready to laugh, create, and inspire! Please note this course is the same course as that offered in Week 3.
